The results
December 11th, the CCBB (Zoo sauvage) had a press conference as the result of the economic benefits study prepared by DBSF. On several occasions, this study came to support the development of the 2008-2012 Development Plan. The CCBB has to renew itself if it wants to maintain its clientele and ideally increase it.
The Zoo sauvage of Saint-Félicien finished the 2008 tourist season with a general decrease of 5.21% of its customers. The visitation rate went from 166,105 visitors compared to 175,226 visitors in 2007, a difference of 9,121 visitors.
DBSF estimated that the CCBB currently creates more than 322 direct and indirect jobs in the area per year. The net salary associated with this labour is 8.8 million dollars. In addition, the government of Quebec withdraws nearly 4.7 million dollars in tax revenue while the government of Canada recovers more than 2.3 million dollars for itself.
