Carnivorous, feeding principally on snowshoe hares, but takes many other species of mammals, birds and even fish.
Lifespan
Up to 15 years in the wild and about 20 years in captivity.
Reproduction
Generally, the female is sexually mature at 2 years. Mating occurs between March and April. The 1-4 cubs are born between May and June after a gestation period of 9-10 weeks, and are weaned after 3 months.
