Diet

Omnivorous , mostly herbivorous, feeding on acorns, seeds, leaves and fruit, but also takes insects, earthworms, small reptiles and amphibians.

Lifespan

Up to 10 years in the wild and in captivity.

Reproduction

Sexually mature at 1 year. Mating and egg laying occurs between February and July depending on the region. The 8-15 eggs are incubated by the female for 28 days. The young can fly up to roosting sites after 9-14 days.

Predators

The majority of land-bound carnivorous mammals.
