Diet

Carnivorous, feeding principally on small mammals, carrion, birds, frogs, insects, but also eats berries.

Lifespan

Up to 10 years in the wild and up to 12 years in captivity.

Reproduction

Sexually mature at 10 months. Mating occurs between December and March. The 4-7 cubs are born between March and May after a gestation period of 2 months, and are weaned after 4-5 weeks.

Predators

Canadian lynx, bobcat, coyote, wolverine, gray wolf and black bear.
