Diet
Herbivorous, feeding on grasses, moss, lichen, herbaceous plants, shrubs and other available plants.
Lifespan
Up to 20 years in captivity and in the wild.
Reproduction
The female mates between July and August starting from 2 years old. After about 8 ½ month gestation period she gives birth to one calf between April and May, and it will be weaned around 1 year later. Many variations are possible depending on the breeding conditions.
Predators
Wolf can attack the calves and the sick or wounded. Wild yaks are still illegally hunted by man.
