Reproduction
Mating begins at the age of two, in the spring, from late May to June. Females lay on average 4 to 5 eggs, one egg per day, which she incubates for 24 to 26 days. The first flight occurs approximately 40 days later.
Predators
The polar bear and Arctic fox prey on the eggs and young. Birds of prey such as the peregrine falcon also target this species.
