Diet
Carnivorous, feeding especially on ongulates like deer and wild boars, but also on other small and large species of mammals.
Lifespan
Up to 15 years in the wild and 20 years in captivity.
Reproduction
Sexually mature around 4 years of age, mating can occur throughout the year, but especially in the autumn. After about 3 ½, month gestation period the female gives birth to 2 to 4 cubs which will be weaned around 5 months old.
Predators
Man is mainly responsible for the decline of the population. In spite of protecting the species, poaching persists.
